Saturday Spankings #satspanks WIP

There was some sort of an error on the post I did not catch. I have reported myself to Headmistress Blake and I hope she will be lenient for my first time.

Please go and visit the awesome blogs of those who followed the rules.

I will be here for the rest of the day on the naughty stool.

***
Lydia blinked back another round of tears. Why did he show such concern for her? “Have you never punished anyone?”

“I have punished plenty but never in such a manner which may cause actual harm.”

“Shall I believe you would never punish me even if my actions called for it?”

“My lap is not worn out Lady Lydia.”

Lydia flushed deeply despite her aversion to his bold touches. Mostly she had been astonished at the arousal his touch created. Though the marks hurt badly his concern and light caress brought her core to life. “It is not proper for us to be alone in conversation.”
  ***

This a still raw WIP (my other works seem to have gone missing, I know I will find them shortly) of a regency era story.

Lord Steedmond, the man whom Lady Lydia is talking to is worried for her safety in her home and has requested her hand in marriage from her father, Lord Underwood. This is a historical piece and is turning out quite well. The marks Lydia refers to were from a harsh session from her father who takes out the house's frustrations on his middle daughter.

I will now go sit on my stool, with my nose pressed into the corner.

  1. I like it. Nice, palpable chemistry between these two, even in the small amount of words.

  2. Addy--this is like two snippets at once. First, the one about your own naughty behavior and then the one about your heroine too. Good luck w/your WIP. I just love Regency!

    1. Oh no! I'm really in for it now. Perhaps I should go and find a picture of a switch as well.

Thank you for stopping by Celeste! :)

  3. Loved it particularly "My lap is not worn out Lady Lydia" and Addy, perhaps to be more comfortable you could on Saturdays change Addy's Couch to "Addy's Naughty Couch"...*smiles*

  5. Lovely snippet, and I just love that it's not "proper" for them to converse alone after that! LOL, there were some pretty funny social mores in those days.

    1. Tara, can you imagine not being able to speak to a man courting to be your husband? So odd, right? :D

    1. Oh thank you Joelle! This one is so raw I fear I should have searched harder. My thumb drive went missing so when blogger ate my post I had to do another! ;)

    2. ack at the missing thumb drive. It doesn't read too raw... I think you have a good one building in this WIP

  7. Ooh! Regency Historicals are some of my favorites, and I agree with everyone else that I love Lord Steedmond's line. I also find it interesting that he is worried he may have caused her actual harm, which makes me wonder how he punished her. She seems okay, though he left marks that are hurting her. Sounds like it was a harsh punishment. Really makes me want to read more. Great snippet, Addy.

    1. He actually did not leave them - I should have added in the blurb that this is before he courts her. The story begins with Lord Steedmond observing her father punishing too severely. I know....my heroines are always in a problem they need to be rescued from. Things get better though and as the story unfolds we find out her father beat himself up more than her. Still so raw. Ugh! I'm almost at 10k

  8. Love the line, my lap is not worn out. I imagine a butt would wear out a long time before a lap...

  9. I was on the naughty list too…like this snippet but I was expecting something from your supernatural work. I do love Regency though, it's so elegant. Curious for more...

  11. Keep up the good work. This has great potential. I love the premise you begin with and, I agree with everyone that the lap line is a keeper.

  12. Loved it, Addy. There's something that works so well about a stiff gentleman... wait, I'll rephrase that... a gentleman bound by rectitude, a la Mr Darcy, as a spanker.
