I am thrilled to be a part of the Corbin's Bend Blitz! I'm sharing an excerpt from Constance Masters (love her!) title, Leading the Way. Please enjoy and be sure to enter the give-a-way!
Zachary Cunningham
moved his family to Corbin's Bend when everything in their life seemed
out of control. In a DD relationship with his wife Erin, he thought
things had leveled out now that they lived in a community where everyone
watched out for one another and discipline was the norm. Surely his
family life could be more settled now.
Erin had never made friends easily and in Corbin's Bend she found it doubly as hard. A little too hard on herself, she ignored her mentor and any friendliness from neighbors; so afraid of making a mistake that she didn't try. Until her husband insisted. Having convinced herself she was doing what he wanted, she made friends with a few ladies who liked to push the envelope a little. From bowling to a strip club to smoking a little weed, her life was definitely a lot more fun, even if she was hiding her activities from Zach.
When her husband and the board of Corbin's Bend discovered their indiscretions, Erin and her friends found out what public discipline really meant. When the discipline led to a larger sense of security and more friendships than she could have imagined, Erin began to understand that following Zachary's lead truly was the way.

“I hear you went out for dinner last night,” Diana said happily when she met with Erin the next day to talk about the dinner party.
“Uh-huh. It was nice to have a family night out. It was a reward of sorts for me, you know, calling you.” Her face flushed a little pink.
“I see.” She grinned. “Zach worried that you wouldn’t, but it isn’t easy for the head of house sometimes. He’d already spanked you once and he was hoping to avoid another punishment so soon.”
“He told you he punished me?” Erin’s face had gone from slightly pink to red-hot within minutes. She felt like she was having a hot flash.
“He confided in us. Nothing he, or you for that matter, tells us will go past us, unless you want it that way. We’re here to help.”
“Okay, if you say so. It just seems like it’s private that’s all.”
“It is private, just between the four of us.” She smiled. “And maybe Brent if we were worried about something.”
“Oh my goodness.”
“He’s the head of this place. Erin, you don’t need to feel embarrassed here about anything. That’s why you moved here. That’s why everyone moved here.”
“I know. I’m trying to get my head around that. I never thought I was a prude, you know? I mean, I’m not but when I hear bottoms being spanked in the middle of the afternoon when I go for a walk to fetch my kids from the park or when I see someone get swatted in public, it makes me feel funny like I’m a voyeur or something.”
“There’s a little voyeur in all of us, Erin, I think, but I wouldn’t worry too much about people getting spanked. It’s what we do. These houses are soundproofed so if they didn’t want you to hear, you wouldn’t. Maybe it’s their thing. Either it turns them on or maybe a little humiliation is part of their punishment.”
“I’ve never thought about it that way.”
“See, that’s why it’s good to talk about things with your mentor, because they can help you look at things the way they are and not worry about what they might be.”
“That’s true.”
“So I bet going out to dinner wasn’t the only reward you got?” Diana said with a grin.
“Diana!”
Trust
I think most of
us have trouble trusting at one time or another. When we are children the first
people we trust are our parents, generally. We trust our siblings if we have
any, our grandparents. Doctors, priests and ministers if our parents tell us
that that's ok. We take their word because we trust them. If we are lucky
enough to find someone who becomes the missing part of us, we learn to love
that person and trust comes as a part of that love. They probably get to know
us better than anyone else because we share our whole selves with them;
everything from our likes and dislikes, dreams and wishes, to our fetishes.
Living a life of domestic discipline is something that most participants don't
share with others. Maybe that's because they're not a hundred percent sure
they'll be understood because it can so easily be misinterpreted or maybe
because it's something special that's just for them. It could seem that sharing
that part of their lives would diminish the couple's special bond.
What if though
you could live in a place where there were no inhibitions. You could be free.
Sounds perfect doesn't it? Maybe. Zach did find freedom in Corbin's Bend right
from the get go. He embraced the experience of sharing with other spankees, of
having a mentor to talk things over with. After all, being the head of
household was a big responsibility and it was reassuring to be able to talk
things out. To reassure himself that he was on the right track.
For some people
the change mightn't be so easy. When you've kept a part of yourself private for
so long, instantly trusting virtual strangers might be hard. Erin found it hard
but when her husband insisted she didn't have a choice. She had to talk to her
mentor and to start sharing that part of herself that she'd always kept so
close to her chest. Putting aside her greatest fear she did as Zach told her to
because the start of trusting everyone else in Corbin's Bend began with
trusting him.
